I use Tweetdeck to group a lot but some stuff still gets missed. But Digg is one of those sites that just a year ago I couldn't imagine life without and now I never check it.

Re: Is Twitter the Digg Killer?

I never thought about it that way, but I completely agree. Twitter, because you follow who you want, is also a MUCH better filter than Digg. Masses of people, especially on the internet, are extremely stupid. Digg also has a higher rate of retard internet dweebs, while Twitter requires that you be able to carry on something of a convo.

So...yes.

Re: Streamy Invite Available

@Datapimp,

Invite has been sent. However, what I don't like about this "Twitter" phenomenon, is that I feel that it just down plays the way people interact with others because you are limited to that about of characters you can write. Thus, making people dumber and lazy with their brains.

I worry also that it will only escalate the already horrible "self entitalement" problem, because the reasoning behind Twitter is "What are YOU doing RIGHT NOW" thing.

Now Justin, I'm not saying you are getting dumber or anything, but I'm always a little skeptical with advancing technology and what it can do on a person's soul. Maybe I'm just crazy.

Re: Getting Everything Together

I love the new site. It has changed the way we meet and interact, but only if used properly.

Media outlets claim that their new competition is Twitter, FriendFeed, etc. They are wrong. Every single one of us is now competition. I reccomend that you get the best and go for the iphone.

Re: What is the Deal with Prop 102?

What I get a kick out of that those who support traditional marriage always seem to skip history. If I recall right marriage was quite literally a contract by which a man OWNED a woman. We where property, B#@*^#*es. Much like cattle and not worth half as much. So if we wanna get retro with it all women need to do as they're told because property doesn't have a right. I find it amusing how easily people can bring up tradition but want to leave out the less flavorful parts of this old school Jingle. You know, the part of tradition that men and women have fought against for years. As a rule I find that good things always have a huge backlash. In the beginning there were people who did not want to separate from England. There were people who did not want women to work, vote, or have custody of children. A lot of things have passed that a nice chunk of the population did not initially agree with. This whole gay marriage thing is no different.

Re: Streamy Invite Available

I am a very avid Google reader user and I have been looking for a new app to add to my "daily" visits list. I have absolutely no need since I'm packing an iPhone and it's absolutely fine. Android's openness is the draw for me. One would assume that )if they've got it stable and ready to roll) Android phones will eclipse iPhone sales quickly creating a demand for apps that will produce a firehouse of great applications. All-in-all, what a great time for mobile. It's great to see mobile phones getting away from the abysmal UX of the flip-phone era.

Re: Twitter Experiment

I think Twitter is a great application for work AND for fun. Combining the two on Twitter looks to enhance the value of both relationships. Some of the other social networking sites appear to work better when separating business and pleasure. This is a great web 2.0 app... Heck, you might even run into an old friend. :-)
@RailLife

Re: Twitter Experiment

I think the key is to follow people within your niche, people who would benefit from reading your updates or think you might have something to say. You'll end up with more reciprocal followers from that I think.

What's the real value of having a large number of followers for you? I know people who use it as a broadcasting method for new products, etc, but on a personal level I wondered what you would be using this platform for?

I've put my twitter account on my business cards, prominently on my website, mention it during networking conversations, and use it in introductions when it seems valuable. I usually get about 1-3 followers a week and have people following me from around the globe. It's a very interesting experiment and I've been trying to keep the level of follower/following at a ratio of 1/1 or more on the side of followers.

Above the numbers is really the quality of contact for me, I want to have meaningful conversations with those I follow and who follow me. I really make an effort to help out as much as I can and keep my social capital up.

Anyhow, have fun with that, lemme know what you think as you keep working on it. :)

Re: Twitter Experiment

That was the unexpected part of this experiment. Those same people see traditional marriage being attacked by others, who want to broaden the definition of marriage to include perverse and bizarre unions."

Allowing gays to marry is not the same as disallowing straight people to marry. Traditional marriage would not be marginalized one iota by allowing gays to marry. It would only be broadened to allow gays to marry. Just like we broadened marriage to allow for interracial marriages during the civil rights movement.

"Now, on its face, this amendment to Arizona’s constitution would neither outlaw or legalize anything. It would merely call a spade a spade, and not call a perverse and bizarre union “marriage”."

Do you think the state should dictate who churches allow to marry or should that be up to the church? This constitutional amendment gives government control over who churches allow to marry. This seems wrong to me. I think the church should make that decision.

"Many people who will vote “yes” on 102 believe that if we promote traditional marriage as much as possible, it will make our state better, because of their beliefs about traditional marriage.
